On the third day of the conference, Patrice Calegari, Technical R&D Leader at Bull and representative of the E2CC coordinating partner, participated as a speaker in the half-day technical workshop “Energy and Material Efficiency in the Cloud–Edge Continuum” with a session called “Eco Edge to Cloud Continuum project: Challenges and solutions.”

During the talk, Calegari presented E2CC’s approach to building a sustainable and energy‑efficient Edge‑to‑Cloud continuum, addressing the technical challenges of managing heterogeneous environments across edge, cloud and high‑performance computing. The presentation focused on cross‑layer optimisation and energy‑aware workload management, illustrating how E2CC contributes to reducing energy consumption without compromising performance, while supporting Europe’s broader efforts towards more sustainable digital infrastructures.

The workshop gathered leading academic and industrial experts working on efficiency and sustainability in cloud–edge systems, providing opportunities for technical exchange and networking with related initiatives.

E2CC’s participation in DATE 2026 reinforced the project’s position within the European research and innovation landscape, demonstrating the relevance of its technical approach to sustainability and efficiency in complex cloud–edge environments, and consolidating its role in shaping future energy‑aware digital infrastructures.
