The 8ra (IPCEI-CIS) 2nd GA took place at Gdansk, Poland, on 27-28 March 2025

Under the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the 8ra Initiative (IPCEI-CIS) General Assembly took place in Gdansk, Poland on 27-28 March.
All of the 8ra projects funded under the IPCEI-CIS, together with representatives from the member states and the initiative's governing bodies, came together to shape the future of Europe's multi-provider cloud edge continuum.
Representing the E2CC project were François Exertier on behalf of Eviden in his role as coordinator of the project, Sophie Guégan-Marat from Eviden's R&D team involved in the E2CC WP3 on AI, and Antonio Rausell from Institut Imagine, E2CC partner with the use case on rare diseases.
Discussions during the Assembly covered topics such as the impact of cloud edge infrastructure on the European economy, key technical advances in the initiative's work streams, security, sustainability and open source collaboration, and how the community's work aligns with the EU Cloud & AI Development Act.
Live demonstrations brought these ideas to life, showing real progress towards a more interoperable and sovereign European cloud ecosystem.
